Ambush and COVID-19 Update

Dear Ambush Soccer Club Members,

We are now a few days into what we all hope is the temporary postponement of the Spring Season.  As announced on Thursday afternoon, March 12, Ambush Soccer Club, along with all of Georgia Soccer will be postponing the Spring season until April 30th.  We very much appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

Most all of us have never faced a situation like this before.  As we venture into these unchartered waters, Ambush is very aware of your concern about playing the Spring season. We will stay in constant contact with the City of Alpharetta, Georgia Soccer, USYS, and US Soccer.  These governing bodies will be monitoring information from the CDC and other Health Organizations and will use sound factual information that will ultimately lead to the safe responsible return to the playing field.  We encourage all of you to be aware of the latest from the CDC (CLICK HERE) and the GA Dept. of Public Health (CLICK HERE).

To further assist, we would like to provide a Q&A that will help answer many of your questions in the early days of this postponement.

Can we still practice?
As we communicated Thursday, March 12, 2020, all practices and games are postponed until further notice.  No exceptions.

Can my coach conduct informal practices?
Same answer as above.  All practices and games are postponed until further notice.  Including informal sessions.  Ambush Soccer Club are participating diligently within our community in cooperation with local authorities to assist in the recovery from this situation.  To do so, our coaches and all personnel have been instructed to "Stay At Home" unless essential travel for food, medical, etc is needed.

Can I still go to a park and practice on my own?
As of midnight on March 14, 2020, the City of Alpahretta informed us that all facilities and parks were closed until March 31 when an assessment will be made to continue the closure or reopen.

Have games been cancelled permanently?
No, if and when we return, every effort will be made to make up as many games as possible with the time available.  Again, a firm return to play date has not been established yet.

How long are activities postponed?
Per US Soccer and GA Soccer, all soccer activities are suspended until April 30, 2020.  Weekly assessments will take place to determine if we can reopen sooner than that date.

Will we get a refund or credit toward a future season?
Once we have the all clear to play, training and games will resume.  Our intention is to make up as many of the games as we can with the time left in the Spring season when we return.  At this time, there is still no indication on when we can return safely to the playing field.  Until we have the return to play date and reschedule as many games as possible, refunds will not be considered.  As we get more information over the coming weeks, we will provide those details and especially as they pertain to refunds.

Ambush Previously Scheduled Events Update

Ambush night at Atlanta United 2 (March 21) - This event has been canceled.  USL have shut down operations and the game will not be played.  If you purchased tickets to this Atl Utd 2 game at Kennesaw, please contact Robert Wofford at [email protected] for your options.

SCCL Summer League Tryouts (March 29) This tryout has been postponed.  We still have every intention to participate in the SCCL Summer League which begins in June.  To do this we will need to conduct a tryout to fill out our teams.  We will reschedule the tryout as soon as we have been given the clear to return to play by the governing authorities.

Ambush Spring Break Camp (April 6 -10) - With the current fluid situation in the world, we do not know if we can return to the field by then or not.  Once we are certain that we cannot return to the field on April 6th, we will announce a decision on the camp at that time.  If the camp is completely cancelled, full refunds of $100 will be given to each registered participant.

Any activities scheduled beyond May 1st are still on as scheduled at this time.

Thank you,

Doug Yearwood
