Ambush Soccer Give Back to the Community

For the 9th year in a row, the Alpharetta Ambush Soccer Club have participated in a Fall Fund Raiser.  This year, the Club partnered with The Summit Counceling Center from North Fulton County.  Summit provides professional counseling, consultation and education services utilizing an integrated approach to care for the whole person - Body, Mind, Spirit, and Community.  Whether you are looking for coaching to go to the next level, counseling for the challenges of life, or in need of professional therapy, Summit foster a safe, confidential, caring environment in which lives are reclaimed, relationships are revived, and hope is renewed.  It was an honor for Ambush Soccer Club to be associated with such a great organization that gives back so much to our community.

The fundraiser itself was a lot of fun.  100% of the Ambush teams participated in the event by selling and purchasing bright green dri-fit game day jerseys.  The jerseys with both the Summit and Ambush logos were worn during actual regular season games by the Ambush teams.  We are very proud to announce that the sale of the jerseys along with a few individual contributions raised a grand total of $5,000!

Recently, four Ambush players Lauritz Adriansan (11U Boys), Amber Jones (13U Girls), Daniel Urshansky (14U Boys), and Margaux Guillet (17U Girls) visited the corporate offices of The Summit Counseling Center along with Club President, Doug Yearwood.  The players prepared a speech and presented the proceeds from the fundraiser in the form of an over-sized presentation check in the amount of $5,000.  Attending the presentation from Summit Counseling was Shawn Murphy, Director of Development, Cathy Murphy, Director of Community Outreach and Ashton Powers, Administrative Assistant.  Cathy Murphy commented, "I can't thank you enough for the generous donation!  We were blown away by the professionalism of your players...they were awesome!"  Doug Yearwood also commented, "Along with the Ambush coaching staff, we are constantly trying to find ways to do something different with our players other than the normal "soccer stuff".  And that's why this day each year is my favorite day of the year.  Watching young, motivated, enthusiastic Ambush players of all ages visit an intimidating corporate environment, stand in front of adults they've just met for the first time in their lives, and deliver perfectly executed speech....well let's just say that's as rewarding as watching one of our teams win the league or win a tournament!  I'm very proud of each and every Ambush player at the Club and they never cease to amaze me!"  Another successful fundraiser in the books.  We all look forward to Fall 2020 to do it again!!!

Ambush!  Let's Go!!!
