Atlanta United Players Partner with Ambush Soccer Winter Camp
The annual Ambush Soccer Club Winter Camp got an incredible shot in the arm this year. Four of Atlanta United's long time players joined the camp as the primary coaches providing a huge surprise for nearly 75 campers. Recently retired center back and three year Team Captain Michael Parkhurst, Midfielder/Defender Jeff Larentowicz, Midfielder Kevin Kratz, and Goalkeeper Alec Kann provided players from Ambush Soccer Club with the thrill of a lifetime. The players trained with each coach in a circuit training set-up both days getting to spend significant time with their favorite professional hero. Players and parents alike were treated to an amazing question and answer session. The Atl Utd stars also found time to autograph two items and take pictures with each and everyone of the campers. One of the highlights of the weekend was the "End of Camp" raffle where 11 prizes were awarded to lucky campers. Prizes included autographed photos from the MLS Cup celebration, autographed balls, and autographed jerseys!! The really amazing part was watching Michael Parkhurst's special raffle ticket selection process. After the first 7 prizes were awarded to boys, he stepped forward and used his special technique to make sure a girl was selected next!! Now you know why he was the Captain for Atlanta United!!! The Ambush Soccer Club is super thankful also to Glen Fox from Southern Crescent Goalkeeper Academy. Glen was responsible for introductions to the Atlanta United players and played a big part in making this wonderful event a reality. Alec Kann, who has become a great friend to our club was also very instrumental in planning and organizing such a great event!!!
Ambush players, great news! This year's event was such a success, plans are already in the works for next year and also to expand the event so that more Ambush players can participate.
