  • When are practices? Practices are Monday through Thursday.  Most teams practice 2x per week; some practice 3x per week. 

  • When are games? Games are Saturday and/or Sunday. U8 Jr. Academy games are typically Friday night. 

  • What size ball does my child need? Jr. Academy U8 size 4. Academy U9-U12 size 4. Select U13 and up size 5. 

  • What gear does my child need? Proper soccer shoes, shin guards, age appropriate ball, water bottle and appropriate Ambush practice and game attire.

  • Where are practices and games held? All Ambush activities are conducted at Webb Bridge Park, North Park, Valor Christian Academy, and Innovation Complex.

  •  What are the uniform costs? Approximately $275 which includes a home and away kit (2 game jerseys, socks and shorts), two practice jerseys and an Ambush ΒΌ zip adidas training pullover.  Uniforms are worn for 2 years or the equivalent of 4 seasons. 2024/2025 is a purchase year for the new kit.

  • What age group does my child participate in? Age group is determined by birth year.

  • How much are fees? Fees are determined by coach license level, # of nights of practice and if you are a resident or non-resident.  Fees for U9 to U15 can range from $1050 to $1770 per year and U16 and older can range from $740 to $1085 annually. 

  • What is included in fees?  Monthly training fees, Director of Coaching fees, Club Admin/Operational Fees, Ambush team camp and Alpharetta Recreation Parks and Cultural Services Fees. 

  • Can I register if I don't live in Alpharetta?  Yes ALL players are welcome at Ambush.   Non-residents are responsible for a fee to participate.

  • I missed tryouts, what do I do? Email [email protected] and we will check availability and do everything we can to place your player on a team.

  • How do I get notified if I made a team? You will be notified by the coach via email, phone or in person. You will receive an invitation through club email to accept the offer to play, register, and pay the initial deposit.  

  • How do I register? You will receive an offer/invitation through club email and complete the steps to register and pay. 

  • Can I pay by check? Yes. Make a check payable to Ambush Soccer Club.  Each order has a $2 order processing fee.  Please add $2 to all payments made by check.

  • I'm not sure what size uniform to order? Sizing samples will be available at tryouts.  If you aren't sure of your Adidas soccer gear size, you can visit any one of the local soccer shops or Dick's sporting goods and check for sizes in the soccer section of the store.   • I changed my email, do you need to know my new email address? Yes, log-in to your Ambush account at www.alpharettaambush.org and update your profile.  Always keep your email and phone number up to date in the Ambush registration system.

  • I would like my child to participate in an older age group, what should I do? Notify the coaches of each age group at tryouts or beforehand if you have access to the coach.  CLICK HERE and you will find a full list and contact information.

  • Do current Ambush players need to tryout and register online? Yes, all players should tryout and register online. 

  • Should players attend all tryouts? Yes, all players should attend all three days of tryouts to maximize the probability of making the team. 

  • What is the difference between red, white and grey teams? Where Ambush have multiple teams in an age group their names are red, white and grey and they designate different levels of play. This assists in placement of our teams to ensure competitive games. 

  • 2017 is the youngest age group, can 2018 tryout? Yes but contact our Jr. Academy Rec Director first. Coach Matt Edmiston.

  • How are players evaluated? All evaluations are done during the mandatory three day tryout period. Players are evaluated based on their technical, tactical, physical and teamwork abilities. 

  • Who picks teams? How soon do we reply to offer? Coaches make 100% of all team selection decisions.  Administration has no input or impact on player placement decisions. Reply to offer within 24 hours to be placed on a team.

  • How many teams will there be for each age group? Depends on the number of participants at tryouts.  The goal is for at least 2 teams in each age group if enough players attend tryouts. 

  • What is the Club's policy on roster size? Roster sizes for each playing format will be determined to maximize player development and playing time. 

  • When can parents talk to staff/coaches at tryouts? Short conversations can be accommodated during the 15-minute interval between tryouts. More detailed conversations can be arranged by phone. 

  • Who will coach the team? We have assembled the strongest staff to date for our program and are very excited about the quality of coaching available to our players. Coaching assignments are listed under "Coaches" on our website.  Keep in mind, coaching assignments can change at any time. 

  • Are practices and games mandatory? YES!!  Ambush training sessions, games, tournaments and all team events are designed to maximize individual player development and team growth, as well as safety from a fitness standpoint and are therefore a mandatory commitment. 

  • How many tournaments do we play? One preseason and postseason tournament for the fall and spring seasons. U-8 Junior Academy do not participate in any tournaments.  Some U9 teams will not play a tournament until the end of the Fall season.

  • Can my child play club and school soccer at the same time? Yes.

  • What do 8th graders do in the spring when 9th graders play high school? SCCL offers a U-15 spring friendly season for 8th graders and non-high school playing 9th graders.  Ambush participates in this program and will provide information to rising U15 parents and players at tryouts or before the spring season.

  • What league will our team play in? U8 to some U12 teams play in an intra-club group of other Academies under the Georgia Soccer & SCCL umbrella.  The U12 to U19 teams participate in the SCCL Champions and SCCL Premier leagues.
